Wound Care: Case Studies in PALTC

This session will review common wound care dilemmas in long-term care and present approaches to the treatment of these patients.
Presenters
Janet Mackenzie, MD, ABPS, CWSP, practices wound care in long term care facilities. She is also a Fellowship Director for Vohra Wound Physicians' training program for practicing physicians who are new to wound care. She is a certified by both the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Wound Management.

- Identify common wounds seen in long-term care patients.
- Interpret clinical presentation to classify the wound and construct an appropriate initial care plan.
- Integrate wound management into a general overall care plan.

ABIM Maintenance of Certification (MOC): Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 1.0 Medical Knowledge MOC points and patient safety credit in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program.
Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.
